Biography
Daniel Del Campos – Image and Media / Public Relations Consultant
As a youth, both Daniel and his brother became musicians, a passion that he maintains to the present day.
He noticed from the get-go that his favorite performers carried with them a great sense of style and image. It seemed to make everything else seem that much more sensational.
As anyone who has worked in the music industry knows, one must learn to be resourceful, yet Daniel was determined to only take on work he found challenging and creative.
In the end, this quest would lead him to many disparate and demanding fields including high-end retail fashion sales, styling and commercial and film production.
Eventually -- as his music career blossomed -- he began recording, touring and appearing on national television shows. He spent time in Europe and lived in music tastemaker capitals such as London and Austin.
At the same time, he attended shoots with his then fashion model girlfriend and met other top-notch models and photographers. He experienced first-hand how images were created.
Moving on, he became a graduate student in psychology with the intention of working with artists and musicians. As he continued his studies, his writing skills developed and soon he was offered assignments, eventually becoming a journalist for music magazines and internet sites.
Those same skills lead him to the field of music-related public relations and marketing.
As a side, he became involved in political media-relations, working for the office of California State Governor, Gray Davis at the Los Angeles 2000 Democratic Convention.
Later, he was again drawn into politics, working for the John Kerry Campaign. Participants in the campaign included luminaries, Governor Michael Dukakis, former Secretary of Labor, Robert Reich, Al Gore Campaign Manager, Donna Brazile, author and commentator, Arianna Huffington and others.
As a freelance publicist, he consulted with and helped develop campaigns for boutique PR firms such as HRPR/Alphadog Public Relations (High-end resorts and spas), Hype Communications and The Visioneering Group (Body, Mind, Spirit experts whose clients include author, Eckhart Tolle {"A New Earth," featured on Oprah}and films, "What the Bleep Do We Know!," and Leonardo Di Caprio’s, "The 11th Hour. "
“All of these endeavors have built upon themselves and brought me to where I am today. If any of these personal pieces of my history were missing, I would not be able to do the work I do. It allows me to see the big picture,” states Daniel.
“I have either worked directly or been peripherally involved in industries where images and promotion are very important, and my psych background gives me the insight I need to pull it all together.”
He concludes, “I am able to envision and communicate that vision in a new way…a unique way that registers with the public on many different levels.”
